Authorities in La Vergne, Tennessee, arrested and charged a suspected DUI offender after he got involved in a collision with another vehicle as he was driving in the wrong way, an article of wate.com reported on December 27.
According to reports, the several charges filed against 24-year-old Spencer Rhodes included felony reckless endangerment, DUI, and reckless driving. Dispatchers at the time of the incident notified authorities regarding the vehicle, operated by Rhodes, going against the flow of traffic on Interstate 24 West. Rhodes’ vehicle reportedly side-swiped another vehicle, Police Chief Mike Walker said. Rhodes’ vehicle then caught fire as it was running “only on rims,” Walker also said. Authorities revealed via reports that Rhodes had traveled in the wrong-way for approximately 12 miles before the accident took place. Documents revealed Rhodes posted a bond and was later discharged from custody.
